Appointments

Please ring 49 313 550 for an appointment. Every effort will be made to match your preferred time and date. Emergencies will always be given priority. This is a large practice and due to the nature of our work Dr Etherington is called out to emergencies and deliveries during the day. We will do our best to minimise your waiting time and ask for your patience in these circumstances.

Telephone access

Dr Etherington may be contacted during normal opening hours. If he is with a patient or unavailable, a message will be taken and the receptionist will advise you when it is likely that your call will be returned. In an emergency your call will always be put through to Dr Etherington.

You can also email the practice and your email will be answered in an equally prompt manner. Please note: emails are not checked when the office is closed for holidays.

Out of hours care:

Dr Etherington provides 24-hour care for patients. At weekends he shares a roster system with Rockhampton’s other obstetricians/gynaecologists working in the private sector.

Reminder system:

Our practice is committed to preventative care. We may issue you with a reminder notice offering preventative health services appropriate to your care.

Fees and billing:

Fees are payable at the time of consultation by cash, cheque, EFTPOS or credit card. For non-insured patients the Australian Medical Association (AMA) fee structure forms the basis of our billing policy. For insured patients this practice participates in the Known Gap scheme for all gynaecological surgery. Quotes are given to all patients at the time of booking any procedures and you will be asked for payment in full just prior to the date of surgery. If you have any difficulty paying our fees, please discuss this with us as arrangements can be made to pay in instalments.

Management of your personal information

Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of this practice to maintain the security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of staff.
